Six students from area high schools will be the recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Colleyville Lions Club.
Four winners were from the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and two were from the Birdville ISD.
G-CISD winners were: Kelly Bredon and Mike Witte of Grapevine High School and Dustin Owen and Melissa Walton of Colleyville Heritage High School.
Birdville ISD winners were Jessica Graham and Stephanie Schweikert.
During the past four years alone, the Colleyville Lions Club has awarded more than $20,000 in scholarships to area high school seniors. Funds are raised from Lions events, including Breakfast with Santa in December at the Colleyville Center, Hole in One each year at Bob Moore’s in Colleyville and the X-Sightment Run.
