The Colleyville Lions Club is organizing a Community LEO club for students of area public and private schools, ages 12-18. As a Community Leo Club any student in the local and adjoining communities are eligible for membership. An organizational meeting will be held Wednesday evening, May 12th, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of Colleyville’s Main Fire Station, 5209 Colleyville Boulevard. Future meeting Schedules will be posted on the Colleyville Lions Club Web Page www.colleyvillelions.com.
LEO Clubs operate under the umbrella of Lions International. There are more than 144,000 young LEO’s in 139 countries. LEO is an acronym for Leadership, Experience & Opportunity. Clubs are designed to provide an outlet for youth to learn leadership, to have the experience of being involved in their community, and to have ample opportunity to serve others.
A LEO club is also a place for personal growth and for having fun. The members elect club officers each year and will meet on a regular schedule to be established. There will be a fully functioning board and Club By-Laws. The club’s activity fund will be a separate account as part of the Colleyville Lions Club’s 501 (c) (3) Foundation and participation will qualify for student service hours. The Colleyville Lions Club will be the sponsoring Lions Club.
