The Colleyville Leo Club conducted it's second
meeting last Wednesday. An estimated 18 or more teens and their parents
attended. It is very exciting to see this many students engaged this
early in the formation of the club. Any teen
between the ages of 12 and 18, and their
parents are encouraged to come check out this new and exciting
community service program.
The Leos first item of business was to decide on a name for their club
and "Colleyville Leo Club" was officially adopted. But it was emphasized
that teens do not have to reside in Colleyville to be a member.
A regular meeting
schedule was discussed briefly but setting a permanent meeting time
will be put off
until the club officers are
elected and installed. The next meeting will be Wednesday May 19th,
6:30pm - 7:30pm in the conference
room of Colleyville’s Main Fire Station, 5209 Colleyville Boulevard.
The next major item will the the election of
officers. Any member wanting to run for Officer should contact Monique
Kusman at 817-829-5515 to have their name
placed on the agenda. Each candidate will be asked to make a brief
introduction of themselves to the club and why they would make a good
officer. Depending on the number of candidates a time limit of 2-5
minutes may be imposed.
Positions available include:
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Director (3)
